U.K. Patent Office Gets New Director

Law360, New York (March 9, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Sean Dennehey, a 26-year veteran with the U.K. Patent Office, has been appointed as the new Director of Patents, the government agency said.

The appointment became effective on 8 March 2004, the patent office said.

Dennehey’s predecessor, Ron Marchant, stepped down at the beginning of the year to run the the Department for Trade and Industry, the ministry in charge of the Patent Office.

Dennehey joined the Patent Office in 1978 with a degree in Natural Sciences to work as a patent examiner. In his earlier...
