Nuclear Waste Group Appeals Disposal Defeat

Law360, New York (June 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Northwest Interstate Compact on Low-Level Radioactive Waste, a federally chartered regional organization, is appealing a federal judge’s ruling that the group cannot prevent EnergySolutions Inc.'s import of foreign low-level nuclear waste into a storage facility Northwest does not run.

Northwest on Friday filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah a notice of appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
