Halliburton Faces Hydraulic Fracturing Patent Suit

Law360, New York (June 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Realtimezone Inc. has slapped Halliburton Energy Services Inc. with a lawsuit over a patent covering hydraulic fracturing in petroleum and natural gas reservoirs, leveling counts for breach of contract and fraud as well as infringement.

Realtimezone filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico on Friday.

The patent-at-issue covers a process for hydraulic fracturing of subterranean reservoir formations in real time which was co-developed by the plaintiff and the U.S. Department of Energy, the complaint said.
