EEOC Accuses Sara Lee Of Racial Discrimination

Law360 (September 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission slapped Sara Lee Corp. with a lawsuit Tuesday, alleging the baking giant denied employees promotions because they were black.

The suit, which names employees James Meier, Rickey Johnson and George Clark,Jr., said the men were ineligible for foreman positions at a Sioux Falls, S.D. plant because of their race. The discrimination has gone on since at least 2003, according to the lawsuit.
