Dechert, Susman Godfrey Revamp Parental Leave Policies

By Danielle Nichole Smith (October 2, 2018, 4:06 PM EDT) -- Susman Godfrey LLP on Tuesday announced unlimited paid parental leave for all associates, a day after Dechert LLP rolled out a new gender-neutral parental leave policy that offers 12 weeks of paid leave to all its U.S. employees, including nonattorney staff.

Dechert said workers could take that leave regardless of whether they became parents through childbirth or adoption. And mothers who give birth will also be able to take eight weeks of short-term disability leave, for a total 20 weeks of leave, according to a memo distributed to the firm's U.S. employees on Sept. 20.
