Chemical Groups Sue Union Pacific Over Transit Rules

Law360, New York (June 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Trade associations The Chlorine Institute Inc. and the American Chemistry Council have filed suit seeking to force Union Pacific Railroad Co. to drop requirements that chemical companies shoulder liability for damages or cleanup resulting from problems in the transit of certain hazardous substances.
