Alcatel, Pfizer Still Owe Landfill Cleanup Costs: EPA

Law360, New York (June 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has filed suit against Alcatel-Lucent USA Inc., Pfizer Inc. and Olin Corp., seeking to recoup an additional $670,000 in costs for cleaning up a Superfund site in Pennsylvania that the companies have already paid over $12 million to rehabilitate.

The complaint, lodged Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, claims the EPA asked the companies to pay the remaining response costs back in May 2006, but to date, the defendants have failed to do.
