Pilots' Suit Over Union Seniority Challenge Nixed

Law360, New York (July 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed a suit that a group of pilots at Continental Airlines Inc. filed against the Air Line Pilots Association International in response to the union's challenge of their employer's interpretation of a seniority clause in the Fair Treatment for Experienced Pilots Act.

Judge James Robertson granted the union's motion to dismiss on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, finding that the lawsuit's claims were not ripe for adjudication since the ALPA's grievance filing had not yet injured...
