Midterm Elections Could Fan Already Soaring M&A Optimism
By Chelsea Naso (October 26, 2018, 1:34 PM EDT) -- Optimism for M&A activity among senior executives is at a 14-year high and could be pushed even higher if the Democrats take control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections, despite the positive reception of the Trump administration's business initiatives like corporate tax changes.
Dykema Gossett PLLC's annual M&A Outlook Survey shows that 65 percent of senior executives surveyed anticipate that the mergers and acquisitions market will strengthen in the coming 12 months, the highest level in the study's history and a significant uptick from the 39 percent recorded last year.
