A Break For Manufacturers In Md. Emissions Law

Law360, New York (July 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- On April 20, 2007, Maryland’s Governor Martin O’Malley issued an executive order establishing the Maryland Commission on Climate Change. The commission was tasked with developing a “Climate Action Plan” to assess the likely consequences of climate change on Maryland’s natural resources.

The commission released the Climate Action Plan on August 27, 2008, and that prompted the Maryland General Assembly to pass the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Act of 2009, S.R. 278, 2009 Leg., 426th Sess. (Md. 2009), H.R. 315, 2009 Leg., 426th Sess. (Md. 2009).
