HealthSouth Tries To Get Scrushy To Pay Up

Law360, New York (July 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- HealthSouth Corp. is accusing Richard Scrushy of squirreling away money in offshore bank accounts as the beleaguered health care services provider tries to recover some of the $2.8 billion judgment handed down against the former chief executive for allegedly carrying out a massive and prolonged fraud.

On Thursday, HealthSouth filed court papers in Jefferson County Circuit Court asserting that Scrushy told people he had hidden around $600 million in accounts all over the United States, the Associated Press reported.
