Playa Hotels Taps In-House Counsel As New GC

Law360 (October 30, 2018, 10:31 PM EDT) -- Playa Hotels & Resorts NV, which owns and operates all-inclusive resort brands such as Hyatt, Hilton, Jewel Resorts and Panama Jack Resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, has appointed an in-house lawyer to fill the general counsel role, according to a Tuesday press release.

Matthew Cohen will take on the role of executive vice president and general counsel, leading Playa's mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, financing activities, securities laws compliance, legal risk management and critical business practices. He will be based in the company's corporate offices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to the release.
