Romania, Software Alliance Sign Protocol for Improved IP Protection

Law360, New York (October 10, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Business Software Alliance (BSA)of Romania and several governmental institutions agreed to a protocol for enforcing legislation and preventing copyright infringement, according to Romanian news service Rompres.

The protocal calls for stricter enforcement of copyright law, campaigns to inform and educate the public, practical and theoretical training and efforts to improve the legislative and regulatory scheme.

Joint operations will be carried out with the Romanian Copyright Bureau, the Crime Prevention and Research Institute of the General Police Inspectorate, and the National Criminology Institute of the Justice...
