GCM Contests Chevron Attorneys’ Fees In Enviro Spat

Law360, New York (July 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The buyer of a property contaminated by a former Chevron USA station near Lake Tahoe has appealed a judge’s decision to award more than $367,000 in attorneys’ fees after finding Chevron not liable for the environmental damage.

GCM Air Group LLC lodged an appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Tuesday, less than a month after Judge Brian E. Sandoval of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada granted Chevron’s motion for attorneys’ fees on June 24.
