Law360 (November 28, 2018, 8:47 PM EST) -- Microsoft scored a win Tuesday when the Patent Trial and Appeal Board invalidated a technology company's patent covering a way to attach conversation point reminders for mobile contacts, with the board deeming the challenged claims as obvious.
PTAB found that Microsoft Corp. had shown Mira Advanced Technologies Inc.'s patent over contact list entries to be invalid as obvious in light of a number of proposed combinations of earlier patents.
The patent at issue covers a method for attaching memos for individual contact list entries, which allows cellphone users to remember important conversation points with their contacts, according to filings.
