House Bill Aims To Extend Flood Insurance Program

Law360, New York (July 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Reps. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., and Barney Frank, D-Mass., of the U.S House of Representatives have joined forces in an effort to extend the National Flood Insurance Program, while pledging to reform the institution at a later point.

On Thursday, the duo introduced a new bill that would extend the current program, set to expire in September, until the end of March 2010, calling the move “prudent and necessary.”
