Reid Pushes Back Deadline For Climate Bill

Law360, New York (July 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has pushed back a deadline for when committees can complete their work on a climate bill, but has said he still aims to get something passed by the end of the year.

Reid told reporters on Thursday that the committees still working on a climate bill — including Agriculture, Finance, Commerce, and Environment and Public Works — would have their markups completed by Sept. 28, and not Sept. 18 as originally planned.
