Virgin CEO Named In British Airways Price-Fixing Suit

Law360, New York (July 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The CEO of Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. was identified as a participant in a conspiracy with rival British Airways PLC to fix prices for passenger fuel surcharges, a U.K. court revealed Monday.

Steve Ridgway was named as being involved in the scheme to fix fuel surcharges of long-haul flights between July 2004 and April 2006, but he won't face criminal charges because Virgin Atlantic was the whistleblower of the case, according to a hearing held before the Southwark Crown Court in London on Monday.
