PacifiCorp To Pay $10.5M Over Illegal Eagle Kills

Law360, New York (July 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- PacifiCorp will pay about $10.5 million to resolve a case involving the electrocution of at least 232 golden eagles and hundreds of other birds on power lines throughout Wyoming.

On Friday, the electric utility appeared before Magistrate Judge Michael Shickich of the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming and pled guilty to a criminal information that charged it with 34 separate violations of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
