Medtronic Pulls Insulin Infusion Sets

Law360, New York (July 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Medtronic is facing another recall, this time involving thin tubes used with MiniMed Paradigm insulin pumps by diabetes patients that the company says may not work properly.

On Friday, Medtronic announced that it had started a recall of certain lots of “Quick-set” infusion sets that are used with MiniMed Paradigm insulin pumps. An infusion set is a thin plastic tube used to deliver insulin from an insulin pump, and it needs to be replaced by the patient every three days.
