Morgan Lewis Nixes 2010 Summer Program

Law360, New York (July 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP has become the first Philadelphia law firm to cancel its 2010 summer program, citing the dire economic conditions that have rattled the legal industry.

The news came in a letter made public Tuesday by firmwide hiring partner Eric Kraeutler to law school deans and career planning administrators regarding the firm’s fall recruiting.

Morgan Lewis had already decided in March to defer the start dates for its entering associates from October 2009 until October 2010, and any offers extended to 2009 summer...
