ITC Lets Xiamen LED Investigation Fizzle Out

Law360, New York (July 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has determined it will not review an administrative law judge’s decision to end an investigation into Xiamen Sanan Optoelectronics Technology Co. Ltd., one of six companies accused of infringing a former Columbia University professor’s light-emitting diode patent.

The ITC said Tuesday it would not take a look at the initial determination in June that granted Xiamen’s bid for termination after the Chinese company, without admitting any wrongdoing, entered into a consent order agreeing not to import LED and laser diode chips...
