Jones Day Atty Asks EEOC To Clarify High Court Case

Law360, New York (July 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Jones Day partner Eric S. Dreiband, formerly the general counsel for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, has urged the commission to clarify a 2008 U.S. Supreme Court ruling related to age discrimination and retirement plans that Dreiband argues creates uncertainty for employers.

On Wednesday, Dreiband suggested remedies for the confusion he said was created by Kentucky Retirement Systems v. EEOC, in prepared remarks submitted to an EEOC hearing on new developments under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
