EU Targets Energy, Tech, Drugs For Antitrust Action

Law360, New York (July 17, 2009, 6:14 PM EDT) -- The European Commission will step up antitrust enforcement in the technology, energy, drug and transportation sectors, Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes announced Friday.

“You will see us continuing to look deeply at key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, energy, transport and technology,” Kroes said in an address to the Irish Centre for European Law in Dublin.

Kroes emphasized that the global economic crisis would not diminish the commission's antitrust goals or activities.
