Insurer Not Liable In Priest Abuse Case

Law360, New York (July 17, 2009, 1:49 PM EDT) -- Indiana Insurance Co. has been dropped from a lawsuit against the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay involving allegations of sexual abuse, after a Wisconsin judge found that its policy did not cover acts intentionally committed against the plaintiffs by a former priest.

Judge Nancy J. Krueger of the Outagamie County Court in Green Bay, Wis., agreed with the Milwaukee-based insurer in a ruling Wednesday that it had no duty to defend or indemnify the diocese for any of the allegations contained in the plaintiffs' second amended...
