Fed. Circ. Thaws Injunction In Fridge Shelf Patent Spat

Law360, New York (July 21, 2009, 1:16 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld the construction and validity of a patent claim for a refrigerator shelf, rejecting Saint-Gobain Corp.'s efforts to overturn a permanent injunction won by appliance component maker Gemtron Corp.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit refused Saint-Gobain's argument that the district court improperly construed a claim dealing with plastic frames for glass refrigerator shelves that have flexible edges that allow the glass to snap into its plastic frame, instead of being glued into place as traditional shelves are....
