E.C. Threatens To Take Action Against Spain

Law360, New York (October 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission said it will take legal action against Spain if it does not quit meddling in German energy company E.On AG’s bid for Endesa SA, Spain’s largest electricity supplier.

The Commission demanded last week that Spain stop restricting E.On’s proposal to acquire Endesa. But on Tuesday, Spain’s energy regulator, CNE, once again stressed the restrictions on the bid.
