Two Execs Plead Guilty In Bone Cement Deaths Case

Law360, New York (July 21, 2009, 4:07 PM EDT) -- Two Synthes Inc. executives have pled guilty to a misdemeanor count in a criminal case accusing the company of conducting illegal clinical trials of bone cement during spinal surgery.

Monday's guilty pleas, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, mean the executives, Michael D. Huggins and John J. Walsh, will each face as much as one year in prison and a $100,000 fine, prosecutor Mary E. Crawley said Tuesday.
