Sherwin-Williams Wants $7M Lead Paint Verdict Nixed

Law360, New York (July 21, 2009, 12:24 PM EDT) -- The Sherwin-Williams Co. has asked a Mississippi judge to overturn a $7 million jury verdict in favor of a boy whose mother claims he suffered brain damage due to exposure to lead-based paint.

In a pair of motions filed Monday in the Circuit Court of Jefferson County, Miss., Sherwin-Williams said that much of the evidence provided by Trellvion Gaines and his mother, Shermeker Pollard — who claimed the house where Gaines lived was painted with lead-based Sherwin-Williams paint — was either discredited or “failed to meet...
