Partners Healthcare To Pay $2.7M In Back Wages

Law360, New York (July 24, 2009, 1:02 PM EDT) -- Partners Healthcare System Inc., the largest hospital and physician network in Massachusetts, will pay $2.7 million in overtime back wages to 700 employees, settling a suit brought by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts approved a consent judgment Tuesday, resolving allegations that Partners and 14 affiliated hospitals and health care companies violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by failing to pay employees overtime.
