AG Barr Won't Recuse Himself From Mueller Probe

Law360 (March 4, 2019, 10:54 PM EST) -- Ethics officials at the U.S. Department of Justice have cleared Attorney General William Barr to oversee the probe being conducted by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to a Monday statement, despite concerns about Barr's possible bias against the investigation.

Barr, a Kirkland & Ellis LLP alum who was confirmed as attorney general last month, won't recuse himself from the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election as some Democrats have called for, Justice Department spokesperson Kerri Kupec said in a statement.
