Feds To Probe Shkreli Using Cellphone To Run Biz From Jail

Law360 (March 8, 2019, 9:37 PM EST) -- Convicted former pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli is facing an investigation by the federal Bureau of Prisons for his alleged use of a mobile phone to conduct business from his cell at a low-security federal prison in Fort Dix, New Jersey, the agency said Friday.

The announcement of the probe follows a Wall Street Journal report Thursday that Shkreli is using a contraband cell phone to call shots at Phoenixus AG, the successor to Turing Pharmaceuticals AG, which sparked public outrage in 2015 when Shkreli, its “pharma bro” founder, jacked up the price of a drug used by HIV patients by 5,000...
