Doctor Hides Ties To Medtronic At Senate Hearing

Law360, New York (July 29, 2009, 5:13 PM EDT) -- A doctor who worked as a consultant for Medtronic Inc. reportedly failed to disclose his relationship with the medical device maker when he appeared at a congressional hearing seeking government funding to research combat-related injuries.

The University of Minnesota's Dr. David Polly billed Medtronic after testifying before a Senate committee in 2006, though he represented to the lawmakers that he was speaking on behalf of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, according to the Associated Press on Wednesday.
