Pony Drops Trademark Suit Over Nike Ad Campaign

Law360, New York (August 4, 2009, 9:55 PM EDT) -- Footwear and apparel company Pony Inc. on Tuesday dropped a suit it filed against Nike Inc. over its “V for Victory” advertising and promotion campaign, which Pony claimed infringed several trademarks that cover chevron marks for use on shoes and clothing.

Pony filed a notice of voluntary dismissal in the case in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. According to Pony, Nike notified Pony that the “V for Victory” campaign had run its course and was no longer being used.
