Riot Cut From Worker's Suit Over Philips Noncompete

Law360, New York (August 5, 2009, 4:34 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed Riot Outfitters LLC from a dispute between Philips Electronics North America Corp. and a former employee, who allegedly violated a noncompete agreement by jumping ship to go work for the rival.

Judge C. Weston Houck of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina on Monday handed down a stipulated order for dismissal of Riot's claims with prejudice, leaving former Philips employee Jason Hope to pursue the declaratory judgment suit alone.
