CPSC Levies $1.3M In Fines Over Reporting Misdeeds

Law360, New York (August 5, 2009, 6:59 PM EDT) -- Three companies are set to fork over a collective $1.3 million in civil penalties for failing to report various product safety hazards in a timely fashion, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Wednesday.

The consumer safety watchdog said Plymouth, Minn.-based Wagner Spray Tech Corp. and Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd. of Hong Kong had agreed to pay an $800,000 civil penalty, while Ross Stores Inc. will hand over $500,000.
