Concrete Maker Aggregate To Pay $2.75M Enviro Fine

Law360, New York (August 6, 2009, 3:49 PM EDT) -- Concrete producer Aggregate Industries–Northeast Region Inc. has agreed to pay a $2.75 million fine and implement remediation procedures as part of a settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Justice, which accused the company of numerous Clean Water Act violations.

The DOJ filed a complaint and notice of settlement on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, noting that the consent decree is pending publication in the Federal Register and indicating a public comments period.
