Meridian Pushes Back Disclosure Statement Hearing

Law360, New York (October 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Meridian Automotive Systems Inc. has delayed a bankruptcy court hearing after its unsecured creditors took issue with its most recent disclosure statement.

The hearing was to have taken place Tuesday, but the auto parts maker worked to push it off once the official committee of unsecured creditors filed an objection on Oct. 3. No make-up date has been announced.

Meridian has said it wants a consensual reorganization. But in court documents, the creditors committee alleged that Meridian’s new reorganization plan would leave them with little hope...
