USPS Off Hook In Union Enforcement, Injunction Bid

Law360, New York (August 7, 2009, 5:18 PM EDT) -- A postal workers union in Detroit has lost its bid for court enforcement of an arbitration award against the U.S. Postal Service, as well as for an injunction to stop the USPS from allegedly violating labor agreements by forcibly reassigning clerks to different schedules, in some cases changing their offices and tasks.

Judge Nancy G. Edmunds ruled in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on Tuesday that the union was not able to prove any irreparable harm stemming from the alleged violations....
