Fed. Circ. Affirms Rejection Of Tire Patent Application

Law360, New York (August 11, 2009, 5:21 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld the rejection of a patent application covering the interior design of pneumatic tires on obviousness grounds.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Monday sided with the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences’ decision that found the patent examiner was correct in tossing out all of the claims of Douglas J. Shoner’s patent application.
