WildEarth Guardians, US Call Truce In ESA Fight

Law360, New York (August 11, 2009, 2:15 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has approved a deal between WildEarth Guardians and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar requiring the U.S. to act on the conservation group's petitions seeking Endangered Species Act protections for two plants, a salamander and a jackrabbit.

Judge Christina Armijo of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico adopted the terms of the settlement as an enforceable order on Monday and dismissed the group's ESA suit.
