Tech Co. Sues Compliance Provider Over Cybersecurity IP
Law360 (May 16, 2019, 7:03 PM EDT) -- The maker of a publicly available database of cybersecurity compliance tools sued a for-profit counterpart in Oregon federal court Wednesday, with the free database asking the judge to find that it has not infringed any of the other company's patents.
Secure Controls Framework Council LLC, which operates a free spreadsheet of tools to guide businesses in meeting their cybersecurity compliance requirements, says for-profit Network Frontiers LLC threatened to sue for patent infringement if Secure Controls didn't license its technology.
