9th Circ. Nominee Breaks With Pack, Endorses Brown Ruling
Law360 (May 22, 2019, 8:24 PM EDT) -- A White House pick for the Ninth Circuit on Wednesday broke from the script repeatedly used by many of President Donald Trump's court nominees and endorsed the Supreme Court's Brown v. Board of Education decision, telling the Senate Judiciary Committee he can discuss the ruling because it doesn't face judicial review.
The nominee, Daniel Bress, made his comments about Brown in response to an increasingly common question from Democrats to nominees regarding whether the court correctly decided the 1954 challenge to racial segregation in public schools.
