Biovail Brings Fresh Suit Against Andrx

Law360 (October 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Biovail Laboratories International SRL has sued generics manufacturer Andrx Pharmaceuticals LLC once again to force it to back off of a popular Biovail’s hypertension drug.

The Barbados-based company filed the patent infringement suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on Oct. 4 after Andrx filed an Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) to market and sell a generic version of the hypertension drug Cardizem before the expiration of Biovail’s patent.
