Acacia Unit Drops Sun From Data Storage Patent Suit

Law360, New York (August 18, 2009, 5:35 PM EDT) -- Patent-holding company Acacia Technologies LLC subsidiary Data Network Storage LLC has agreed to drop its claims against Sun Microsystems Inc. in a suit accusing a slew of technology companies of infringing a patent for a data storage management system.

Judge Michael M. Anello approved a joint motion to dismiss all pending claims and counterclaims on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, putting to rest the parties' dispute over a patent titled “Universal storage management system.”
