ITC Eyes Changes To NAFTA's Textile Rules

Law360, New York (August 18, 2009, 3:10 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission is seeking input on two recently initiated investigations concerning proposed modifications of rules of origin for textile and apparel that would apply the tariff provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

The probes stem from a letter the ITC received from U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk on July 30 announcing that USTR negotiators had reached an agreement with representatives from the governments of Canada and Mexico on modifications to the NAFTA rules of origin.
