Lawmaker Backs Resco Products' ITC Petitions

Law360, New York (August 18, 2009, 3:17 PM EDT) -- In response to petitions Resco Products Inc. filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission, Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Pa., has urged the ITC to find that dumped and subsidized imports of magnesia carbon bricks from China and Mexico are hurting the U.S. refractories industry.

Murphy, who represents Pennsylvania's 18th Congressional District, sent a letter to ITC Chairman Shara Aranoff on Aug. 13, stating that he believed the harm from Mexico and China's unfair trading practices was clear. Pittsburgh-based Resco petitioned the ITC on July 29.
