DOJ Won't Fight Latest Nacchio Sentencing Decision

Law360, New York (August 18, 2009, 6:04 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has reportedly decided not to challenge a federal appeals court ruling that will likely shorten the prison term for former Qwest Communications International Inc. CEO Joseph Nacchio.

A spokeswoman for the DOJ told Reuters and the Associated Press on Monday that the agency would not appeal. She declined to elaborate further.

Multiple calls to the DOJ were not returned on Tuesday.
