ITC Slashes Penalties In Ink Cartridge Patent Fight

Law360, New York (August 19, 2009, 5:36 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has lopped $9.4 million off a fine to China's NineStar Technology Co. Ltd., overruling an administrative law judge's recommended penalty in an ink cartridge patent investigation brought at the request of Seiko Epson Corp.

Ninestar and two U.S. subsidiaries will pay $11.1 million, instead of Chief Administrative Law Judge Paul J. Luckern's recommended fine of $20.5 million, ITC Secretary Marilyn R.
