Railway Act Bars AA Pilots' No-OT Campaign: Judge

Law360, New York (August 19, 2009, 3:03 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has ruled that the Allied Pilots Association, which represents American Airlines Inc.'s pilots, does not have a right to run a no-overtime campaign in an attempt to stop the airline from imposing mandatory furloughs on its pilots.

Judge Alexander Williams Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia granted American's request for summary judgment in APA's declaratory action Monday, ruling that APA's campaign would run afoul of the Railway Labor Act by interfering with American's business operations.
